Cassiopeia - Limited Edition Prints

from £150.00

Untethered above the curve of the Earth, a lone astronaut drifts between the familiar world below and the immeasurable dark beyond. Cassiopeia turns this single figure into a symbol of human vulnerability and curiosity, small against the vast scale of the universe yet still reaching outward.

The title refers to Cassiopeia A, the remnant of a supernova whose explosion scattered the very elements that go on to form new stars, planets and, eventually, life. That idea runs through the painting: the astronaut, made of the same stardust, floats at the threshold between home and origin, a quiet reflection on distance, belonging and our fragile yet persistent impulse to explore what lies beyond our reach.

These prints are reproduced from James MacLaren's original oil painting, part of his six-painting Astronaut Collection, a three-year body of work exploring humanity's journey into space. Each print captures the detail and atmosphere of the original, bringing a piece of the collection to your wall.
